Job Description The Corporate Communications organization is looking for college juniors and seniors to support several communications functions at Cisco to develop strategy, messaging or collaborative tools for the business.

Key responsibilities could include supporting senior executives, event planning, project management, logistics support, web design/development, video production and presentation support and special writing assignments,. The candidate must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, have strong communications and organizational skills and be a team player.

The Corporate Communications organization is looking for interns to support several communications functions at Cisco. These areas might include:
•Web Development & Design
•New Media
•In House Video Production
•Audio Visual Engineering
•Technical Demonstration Support
•Public Relations
•Analyst Relations
•Community Relations
•Investor Relations
•Internal Communications
•Executive Communications

Some responsibilities may include:
•Program and event logistics support
•Assist with organization of documentation or digital media
•Assist with corporate podcasting, blogging and web marketing programs
•Maintain and update team wiki spaces, websites and other collaboration tools
•Build press kits and assist in preparation for press conferences and other events
•Prepare daily news coverage report of Cisco
•Prepare weekly news report and schedules for Senior Executives
•Assist in briefing materials
•Conduct research for various projects
•Support quarterly company earnings process
•Write news stories

Qualifications Skills Requirements for all jobs:
The ideal candidate must be a self starter, highly motivated, organized and work well under pressure. Must be very detail-oriented with the ability to work seamlessly within a broader team to achieve desired results in a fast-paced environment. Timeliness and quality of project deliverables is essential. Must have ability to handle cross-functional interactions with high-level executives. This position requires excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.

Desired Skills for Web Development:
Web development experience with: HTML, JS, CSS, UNIX web servers (Solaris and Linux), DIV based page layouts. Advanced JavaScript experience (creating new classes, Ajax'ing XML and JSON services, development techniques such as using Firebug for debugging and CVS or SVN for version control); Familiarity with modern JavaScript packages (Dojo, YUI, ExtJS)

Desired Skills for In House Production:
Knowledge and a working understanding of Adobe Premiere 2.0, Sorenson Squeeze, Canopus ProCoder, Adobe Audition, standard and proprietary codecs such as MPEG 2, H.264, Windows Media, Real Media, and QuickTime. Experience with Audio Mixers, Video Switchers, Waveform Vectorscope Monitors, Patching, and Deck Controls.

Desired Skills for Audio Visual Engineering:
Knowledge of patch bays, waveform vectorscope monitor, shading cameras, SDI architecture, routing, video switchers, and audio mixers.

*Candidates must be enrolled in school full-time and be US Citizen or green card holders.
*Candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
